NICK BAYNE (Featured Performer) is very excited to “get to strut my stuff” and make his Twist debut. He just finished his first Bay Area credit in Little Shop of Horrors with Broadway by the Bay. Other professional roles include Pirelli in Sweeney Todd (Egyptian Theatre Company) and Snoopy in You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown (Taylorsville Arts Council), both in Utah. Nicholas holds a BFA in Acting from the University of Utah, where his favorite credits included Assassins (Zangara), Angels in America: Perestroika (Louis), Urinetown (Hot Blades Harry), and The Caucasian Chalk Circle (Shauva), among others. While spending time in Utah, he also appeared in two short films as a company member of Explosive Entertainment Motion Pictures. Both of these films were nominated for Utah Short Film of the Year at the Fear No Film Festival. Mr. Bayne is also a company member of the fledgling Serendipity Pictures. He is indebted to his web of family and friends, without whom he would be useless.

KATHERINE DARLING (Featured Performer) is excited about her Twist premier and is looking forward to performing some of her favorite pieces all in one night. Since moving to San Francisco after receiving a degree in theater performance and voice from the U of M, Twin Cities, and a short stint in London, Katherine has enjoyed a myriad of wonderful opportunities in the Bay Area Theater/Film community. Some favorite Bay Area stage credits include Georg M! (Ethel Levey), the West Coast Premier of Just One Maggie (Margaret), and featured roles in The Goodbye Girl and Cinderella. Katherine is happy to return to the stage after spending a fair amount of time in front of the camera. She has been fortunate enough to work on several short films, industrials, commercials, and starred in Around the Bay, a feature film which just premiered at this year's Cinequest Film Festival in San Jose. DAVID SALINAS’ (Featured Performer) love for musical theatre began at the University of Texas at Austin, where he was a featured performer with the UT Longhorn Singers. While in Austin, he originated the role of Mike Preston in the Sun, Moon and Stars. Shortly after moving to San Francisco, David founded the vocal quartet UpFront, where he conceived and created their signature show Dreaming in Color at Josie’s Cabaret & Juice Joint. David is most proud of being the founding member of The BEARATONES/sf, an all male quintet that performed for three consecutive years at both the Folsom and Castro street fairs, various AIDS charity benefits, SF Pride events, and finally in a Christmas variety show Just Shut Up and Sing at Josie’s Cabaret & Juice Joint. MEET THE TECHNICAL & CREATIVE TEAM

MICHAEL OZAWA (Producer/Director/Choreographer) was bitten by the musical theatre bug when, as a child, he saw (or just had to see) the movie The Sound of Music 34 times. As a boy soprano, he yearned to go to Vienna to join the famed choir, only to realize later that the world was not yet ready to embrace a non-Euro "Viennese" boy choir singer. Mr. Ozawa took his first ballet lesson at the age of five, but it was not until he was a young adult that he took dance training seriously. After extended training in classical ballet, jazz dance, piano, organ, and music theory, Mr. Ozawa found himself auditioning and appearing on the stages of Southern California in numerous large-scale shows, including A Chorus Line, Hello, Dolly!, Gypsy, Flower Drum Song, Chicago, Guys and Dolls, Anything Goes, Gigi, and On the Town. He was assistant choreographer in a Long Beach production of Guys and Dolls. In many other shows, he acted as dance captain, or featured dancer. Productions in which he was seen after moving to the Bay Area include Flower Drum Song and Damn Yankees! Michael reemerged on the other side of the stage as producer, musical director, and choreographer in 2006 with Broadway With A Twist: A Celebration of Love and Lust. Michael is deeply indebted to the superb and devoted cast and crew of this show.

WILLIAM HEDGE (Musical Director/Pianist) has worn many hats in theater ranging from musical director, conductor, and master of ceremonies to professional actor, pianist, producer, and singer. William has utilized his artistic versatility off Broadway, in stocks, touring companies, and regional productions of many grand shows, playing such roles as Herr Schultz in Cabaret, Pirate King in Pirates of Penzance, Riff in West Side Story, Bobby in Company, and Billy Crocker in Anything Goes. Currently active in the Sacramento area producing and performing in lounge shows, Mr. Hedge finds joy and artistic satisfaction working with talented performers such as the cast of Broadway With A Twist II. The last time Mr. Hedge was seen on-stage here in San Francisco was in the title role of Robin -- the multi-media show produced by “Alotavus” at the old Family Dog at “Playland at the Beach” in 1971. It’s nice to be back!!

ROVER SPOTTS (Technical Director) has worked intermittently with theater since high school in Lancaster, PA. Before Broadway With a Twist he worked on Bound + Gagged for Rumpus in the San Francisco Fringe festival, and on Stage Frights with Hardcore Thrush Productions. In addition to pursuing continuing studies in Information Systems and Theatre Arts at SFSU, he works providing technical assistance to local theaters.

ALLAN MANN (Creative Consultant) got hooked on musicals at the age of 9 when his parents brought back original soundtracks from shows they had seen on trip to New York. He’s been a self-avowed “Theater Queen” ever since, attending musicals in high school gyms and Broadway theaters alike. With little in the way of musical talent, Allan has devoted himself instead to amassing a treasure trove of trivia about the musical theater, which he uses to annoy his friends. He has finally found a way of putting all this useless knowledge to good use by helping write the narration for Broadway with a Twist II: The Concert and assisting with publicity. When not a member of a theater audience, Allan is a public relations professional who counts among his clients the Alameda Civic Light Opera, the resident musical theater company of his adopted hometown of Alameda.

ANDREA FIELDS (Stage Manager) is majoring in theatre with concentrations in stage management and set design at Beloit College, Wisconsin. This is the first show that she has worked on outside of school, and she is excited to be in San Fransisco for it! She has worked on every show that she could in college. These include Angels in America Part 1, Iphigenia and Other Daughters, Chelonia (a dance concert), and most recently The Good Woman of Setzuan.

|
EBEN ALGUIRE (Assistant Stage Manager/Lighting Engineer) is a recent graduate of theatre from Beloit College in Wisconsin. In his four college years, he has had the wonderful opportunity to work on nearly all the shows in some form or another: in the shop, in the grid, behind (and under) the stage, or at the designer's table. Now he is excited to leave Wisconsin to join the cast and crew here in beautiful California for his first out-of-college production!

DAREN MITCHELL (Production Manager) There is nothing quite like live theatre, is there? It's communal, it's visceral, and it's, in a word, “magical.” So many months, weeks, and hours go into what you see on the stage. It's staggering. However, we gladly do it for you, our audience. We hope, for a few hours, to take you to a world that makes you forget the day-to-day worries, to a show you've seen, to a song you've heard, and to a place you've been before. It's that magic that keeps drawing me back time and time again — sometimes behind the scenes, and sometimes in the front row. As production manager I hope that you leave the theatre elated, nostalgia-struck, and a tad wanting. There's always next year... My love to Randel Hart for his grace, drive and his belief in me.
